The website www.iCarBuyer.com and all related pages (the “Site”) are owned and operated by iCarBuyer Inc. (“iCarBuyer”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you access or use the iCarBuyer website and related services (the “Service”).
This policy explains our privacy practices. Optional analytics and approximate-location features, including nearby dealer suggestions, depend on your choices in Privacy preferences.
- What iCarBuyer Is
iCarBuyer is a vehicle purchase planning tool designed to help users explore vehicle prices, trade-in impact, financing structures, and estimated payments before speaking with a dealership professional.
iCarBuyer:
does not sell vehicles
does not approve loans
does not act as a lender or dealership
The Service helps users organize and understand potential purchase scenarios before visiting a dealership.
- Information We Collect
iCarBuyer collects limited information necessary to operate the planning tools and optional user account features.
Basic information you may provide
First name and last name
Email address
Postal code
Account login credentials
Vehicle planning information
Information voluntarily entered into the planning tools may include:
vehicle make and model
estimated vehicle price
trade-in information
financing or lease terms
interest rate estimates
payment structure information
This information is used to generate and store your iCarDeal summary.
The information entered into the planning tools is not a credit application and is not submitted to lenders for credit decisions.
- Optional Information Sharing
Users may choose to share their iCarDeal summary with a dealership advisor.
If you choose to share your information, the following may be shared with a participating dealership:
your contact information
vehicle preferences
your saved iCarDeal summary
Once information is shared with a dealership, the dealership’s own privacy policy will govern how they use your information.
- Automatically Collected Information
Like most websites, we automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site, including:
IP address
browser type
device type
pages visited
time spent on the Site
Technical information helps us operate and secure the Service. Optional measurement of visits and interactions follows the privacy choices described below.
- Cookies, Analytics and Privacy Preferences
Essential cookies and browser storage support sign-in and your saved or draft deals. Optional analytics and approximate-location features are off until you choose to allow them. You can accept all, reject optional uses, or select each purpose separately in Privacy preferences.
Analytics and ad measurement
If you enable Analytics & ad measurement, we use Google Analytics to understand visits and feature use, Google Ads to measure save/help conversions, and Microsoft Clarity for masked session replay and heatmaps on selected public pages. These services may process device, browser, network, campaign and interaction information.
Our custom analytics events exclude contact details, AI messages and exact deal amounts. Replay masks input and buyer-specific content and is excluded from account and saved/shared-deal pages.
You can change your choices using Privacy preferences in the footer. Withdrawing analytics consent stops future collection and reloads the page; it does not remove data already received by providers. Essential deal storage remains available. Browser settings also let you restrict cookies, although blocking essential storage may affect sign-in and other features.
Location for local features
If you enable Location-based features in Privacy preferences, we use Cloudflare to estimate your city and province or territory from your IP address for local inventory searches, assistant requests and province preselection. This is an approximate network location, not GPS, and it may be inaccurate. You can choose a different area in the location picker.
If you enter a city and province or territory, we save that choice in this browser and use it as the default area for local searches and recommendations. You can change or clear it in the location picker. Entering an area does not enable automatic IP-location detection, analytics, or participating-dealer referral tracking. We may include your chosen area in assistant requests and local searches. Your shopping area does not change the province used for worksheet taxes.
Nearby dealer suggestions
Nearby dealer suggestions are optional and off by default, including in Québec. If you enable them, we use your saved city and province or territory, or your approximate Cloudflare IP location, to find a participating dealership for your selected vehicle make within 100 km of the area used for matching. For a manually chosen area, we send the city and province or territory to Geocodio to resolve an approximate area centre. Geocoding results may be cached for seven days. This uses an approximate area, not GPS. Our referral records do not save your IP address or location, or link activity to your account or saved deal.
We count referral displays and inventory-link clicks using a temporary receipt that expires after 24 hours, and retain daily totals by dealership and vehicle selection. These events are not sent to Google Analytics. We store your privacy choices in this browser without adding a visitor identifier for dealer referrals. Turning suggestions off stops future matching and reporting but does not remove totals already recorded.
Dealer inventory opens on the dealer's own website. The link includes campaign tags identifying iCarBuyer as the referral source, without sending your estimated location or deal details. The dealer processes your visit under its own privacy policy.

- How We Use Your Information
Information collected through the Site may be used to:
operate and maintain the Service
generate and store your iCarDeal summaries
provide customer support
improve the functionality of the platform
respond to user inquiries
communicate updates about the Service
We may also use aggregated or anonymized data to better understand how the platform is used. Aggregated data does not identify individual users.
- Sharing of Information
iCarBuyer does not sell personal information.
Information may be shared only in limited situations:
when a user chooses to share their iCarDeal with a dealership
with service providers who help operate the website (such as hosting or analytics providers)
when required by law
in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or asset sale
Our service providers may process information outside your province, including outside Québec or Canada. Information processed elsewhere may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. Cloudflare also processes visitor IP addresses to deliver and secure the website; the Location-based features setting controls optional IP-location use and nearby dealer suggestions.
- Data Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the security of your information.
Security measures may include secure hosting environments, restricted access to personal information, and standard technical safeguards designed to protect online data.
However, no internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
- Data Retention
iCarBuyer retains personal information only as long as necessary to operate the Service and comply with applicable laws.
Users may request deletion of their account information at any time.
- Your Rights
Depending on applicable privacy laws, you may have the right to:
request access to your personal information
request correction of inaccurate information
request deletion of your information
withdraw consent for certain uses of your information

The iCarBuyer Service is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older.
By using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.
iCarBuyer does not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

iCarBuyer may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
When changes are made, the updated policy will be posted on the Site with the revised date.
Changes to this policy do not automatically enable optional analytics, IP-location detection or nearby dealer suggestions. You can review and change your choices in Privacy preferences.
